Evernight Abbey
Location : Loping Plains. Enter through a tomb in the graveyard of Somborn Village
Shard Mission NPC : Tanya Alveron in Somborn Village at -336, 14, -26
Quests to get before entering : A Brother’s Revenge , A Prince in Peril , Twenty five to Unlife , Vampire Weakened
Key Mob : An Enraged Libant Weird. Can be in several locations but normally in one of the side rooms near Lord Thex.
the Voidshard chest is in one of the anti-chambers near Lord Thex.
This zone has many connecting passageways, so depending on the root you take you may encounter nameds in a different
order. Also, one named, Pythoness Olgra, has multiple possible spawn points.
Nzhevar B’Texila
This mob is in a large room full of coffins.
Nothing to hard here. He quite oftne uses an AOE kickback, so best to wedge in somewhere for the fight.
Also, at intervals, burning undead will appear from the coffins, run around like mad for a few seconds before exploding.
The explosion causes aoe damage and a kickback, the damage is relatively low.
Once Nzhevar is killed a large door will open behind his spawn point.
Through this door is a very small area called the Royal Annex.
Within the Annex is the next named, Crypt Master T’golth
There is a coffin in front of T’golth, click this to receive a Mysterious Painting, the stealable furniture item for the
zone.
Crypt Master T’golth
This mob is very straight forward , hit him until he is dead, encounter and not particularly difficult.
Pythoness Olgra
This named is without a doubt the hardest in the zone and can prove to be very difficult.
I recommend leaving her until you have cleared the rest of the zone (you will receive some special buffs during the Lord
Thex encounter which can be used to make this fight easier)
During the fight the Pythoness has a few nasty tricks.
She is grouped with 2 guards, take these down first as fast as you can.
The Pythoness’ DPS is not particularly high at first, she will call several small snakes, these have relatively low HP but
hit very hard and fast, you need to kill these as quick as you can then return to hitting Pythoness.
Once the Pythoness’ HP falls to a certain level, she will turn into a giant snake, at this point her DPS will increase
significantly.
She can also cast an uncureable, group wide stun. This lasts quite a while and can be a group wipe.
Try to have AOE blockers, Sanctuary etc.. running whenever possible and healers should have any group wards/reactives/HoTs
running at all times.
Lord Marcus Thex
This encounter has several steps that everyone in the group needs to be aware of.
As long as everyone does what is required, the encounter is not to difficult.
I have made a, very bad, MSPaint picture of the encounter area which should help explain exactly where everyone should be.
The encounter room is a large , circular chamber, with a circular passageway running around the outside.
There are 5 ante-chambers off of the passageway.
Within the room Lord Thex will, initially, be unattackable.
There will be 5 other named within the room, these are non-agro, not linked but attackable.
You need to kill these nameds one by one.
they can only be damaged in the ante-chamber that is directly behind their spawn point.
These fights are not difficult and quite straight forward, everyone goes into the chamber directly behind the named you
are going to fight, the Tank should then run into the room and pull the named back to the group.
Once each of the 5 nameds is dead, Lord Thex will become agro and attackable.
The group all needs to go into the main chamber, but dont get to close and pull the named yet.
There are 5 tombs within the room, one for each of the previously killed nameds.
Clicking these tombs will give you a special buff or spell.
Each group member needs to get one of these spells to use. Multiple members can have the same spell. (It is intended that
you should only be able to have one spell at a time, but, under some circumstances, it is possible to get 2)
the spells are
Rajadevi Consume life-force – A Divine DoT which alspo heals the caster for 4% of their total HP per second.
Bechoin Exposing strike – A high damage Heat attack that also Dispels beneficial effects on the target
Vishotan Cloak of Shadows – Group buff that increases DA, Spell crit and reuse speed. Also protects the group from Lord
Thex’s Holy Water AOE.
Lubeshan Thrall – Summons a contollable Pet.
Unholy Speed of the Yciid – group buff (+ speed, +20% attack speed, immune to slow effects)
These spells are all very useful, but the following classes should have these spells
Tank – Lubeshan Thrall.
Healer and 1 or 2 others – Vishotan cloak Of Shadows.
Lord Thex can only be damaged while in the main chamber.
The group should all be in the main chamber, at the entrance to one of the passageways (marked fight spot on the map)
The tank should call the Thrall pet before pulling Lord Thex. During the fight Lord Thex will attempt to charm the tank,
if the pet is up he will charm the pet instead.
Whenever the pet is charmed the tank should immediatly call another (The charmed pet does quite low damage so can be
ignored normally, but doesnt take to much to kill if you want to)
There are several things to look out for during the fight.
Holy Water AOE – You will know when this is on the group as storm clouds will appear above everyones heads. The Vishotan
spell should be cast asap to counter this (an alternative method is for those with the spell to arrange between them a
cast order, so that the buff is permanently on the group. If 3 members have the spell, one casting every 10 seconds should
ensure the group is always covered)
Sun Sphere AOE – This is the most important event to watch for. This AOe will kill anyone who is in the main chamber when
it goes off.
Watch for the runes on the chamber walls glowing, this is the warning that the Sun Sphere AOE is about to go off.
Lord Thex will also emote something like “Burn in the power of the sun, foul demon”
When you see the runes glow, everyone needs to get out of the main chamber as fast as they can and get to the Hide Spot
marked on the map (being in the passageways that link to the chamber will also get you killed).
While outside the main chamber, Lord Thex cannot be damaged so dont bother hitting him at this point, the tank can taunt
etc..
The AOE will go off 3 times (You will see a light flash 3 times in the connecting corridor) then the group can re-enter
the room and continue fighting.
As long as these 3 effects are countered (Pet up for charm, Holy Water AOE countered, Out of room for Sun Sphere) this
encounter is not to difficult.
It will probably take a couple of attempts for the group to get it right though.
If you left the Pythoness until last, you can now swap about the spells you have from the tombs.
The heal effect from the Rajadevi buff is very handy for the tank and only one group member now needs the Vishotan spell.
The pet spell is of limited use as the pets dps is quite low.
Good post. Keep it up!
